*115V motors can only be wired with 110-120V; 230V motors can only be wired with 208-245V. Reversible motors (115/230V) will come factory wired for 230V. You must switch the motor to Low voltage before connecting 115V power. Wiring incorrectly will burn out a new pool motor!

All motors are factory tested before shipment. Most motors returned as "defective" have been mis-wired, and are not accepted as returns. Please wire with care, and please call if you have questions!

48 Frame - Above Ground Pool & Spa Pump Motor

Threaded Shaft with attached metal base. This Through-Bolt motor attaches to the pump via the bolts running through the motor housing.

56Y / 48Y Frame - Threaded Shaft Square Flange Pool & Spa Pump Motor

Important: 56Y frame Square Flange motors are 1/2" wider (body diameter) than 48Y frame with Identical hole Spacings on the Flange. They are inter-changeable.

Has a Square Flange or Face, with 4 - Non Threaded bolt holes at 1, 5, 7 and 11 O'Clock. Shaft is threaded on the end. No attached Base. 48Y frame motors ship with a rubber spacer for use when replacing a 56Y frame motor.

Two Speed End Cap Switch

Two speed switch for AT series pumps equipped with 2 speed motors. Includes end cap, 115, 220 Volt, will fit A.O. Smith Square Flange, Key Shaft and Threaded Shaft two speed series motors.

Universal Motor Cover

Fits most pumps, compressors and electric motors. Has open ends and vented sides. 13" L x 8-1/2" W x 8-1/2" H. 100 percent non-corroding plastic. Protects your pump motor from sun, rain, snow and mulch. Color may vary.

Mechanical Shaft Seals

The Shaft Seal prevents water from seeping along the shaft and draining out behind the impeller.

Pool Motor Repair Tips:

• Replace your Shaft Seal whenever you replace the motor, or if your pool pump is leaking down the back side of the seal plate, onto the ground below.

US SEAL POOL PUMP SEAL INSTALL LUBRICANT 10 ML

Why not a Teflon or Silicone-based lubricant to press the seal ring into the pump seal plate?

Very often during installation of a shaft seal, the lubricant comes in contact with the sealing faces. If it is a Teflon or Silicone based product, it is nearly impossible to remove. When the pump is started, the Teflon or Silicone lubricant draws the carbon from the primary ring and smears it on the seat face. This causes a build up of product which eventually destroys the seal.

Shaft seals do not require lubricant to operate. This lube is used to make it easier to press fit the shaft seal into the pump seal plate.

Motor Capacitors

The Capacitor is the battery for your pool motor. Provides the energy needed while starting, to reach 3450 rpm quickly.

Pool Motor Repair Tips:

• Replace your Capacitor when the shaft can be spun freely with a wrench or by hand, and when
  powering the motor, you hear a 'buzz' or a 'hum' from the motor, but no impeller movement.
• Replace your old capacitor with an exact match to the 'MFD' number on the new capacitor.

Pump Motor Bearings

Pool Pump Motor Bearings, front and rear, on the shaft of the motor's rotor, keep the rotor rotating within the stator of the motor, very smoothly and precisely. These bearing races are sealed and non-serviceable.

Pool Motor Bearing Replacement Tips:

• Replace your Bearings when the noise level exceeds your tolerance level ;-)
• Replace your old motor bearings with the exact match bearing size (see chart on page bottom)
• Measure the inside diameter and/or look for stamped markings on existing bearings
