Catering to both Aboveground and Inground pool owners, we cross many demographics lines - from Nascar fans to Kentucky Derby fans. The audience is largely DIY (Do it Yourself), bargain hunters, family oriented. 95% of our audience are pool owners, the remainder purchasing supplies and gear for vacations, community pool visits or as gifts for friends.
According to Quantcast data our audience is mostly:
- 35-65 years of age
- 33% income over $60K and 36% over 100K
- 55% male. 45% female
- 45% have children in the household
- 90% are Caucasion
- 43% with College education
90% of our visitors are from the United States. Other top countries include Australia, Canada, France, U.K.
The Swimming pool business is a seasonal industry. Opposite the busy year end Holiday Season, our season peaks during the first week of June (although we do experience a Holiday lift for gift sales). Our Sales from April - July account for nearly 1/2 of our annual sales.
During the Fall, pool owners above the Mason-Dixon line, or those located in the "Snow Belt" begin to shop for winterizing products to close their swimming pools. In March, the middle states begin to open their pools, or summerize. By June, most all pools in the country are open. The profitable pool business extends well beyond the season of Memorial Day to Labor Day. Customers located in the Sun Belt operate their pool year around, requiring parts, chemicals and supplies to keep them going!
