POOLCENTER.com went on-line in March 1996, essentially establishing one of the very first websites for pool owners and users providing clear and accurate information on pool topics, competent technical support, exceptional customer support/service, and quality swimming pool products at a fair and competitive price to customers worldwide. POOLCENTER.com's award winning pool technical support is provided by Blue Thumb, LLC.

POOLCENTER.com is one of the top 3 pool supply retailers in the category. Our web design, our technical information and our internal processes and people are what make us very competitive. We run no ads on our site, have friendly customer service policies, creating excellant loyalty. POOLCENTER.com is a Google PageRank 4, with an Alexa rank of 97,723. As Internet Marketing has grown, so has POOLCENTER.com. We are no longer pool supply retailers, but rather Multi-Channel Marketers. Catering to both Aboveground and Inground pool owners, we cross many demographics lines - from Nascar fans to Kentucky Derby fans. The audience is largely DIY (Do it Yourself), bargain hunters, family oriented. 95% of our audience are pool owners, the remainder purchasing supplies and gear for vacations, community pool visits or as gifts for friends.

According to Quantcast data our audience is mostly:

35-65 years of age
33% income over $60K and 36% over 100K
55% male. 45% female
45% have children in the household
90% are Caucasion
43% with College education

90% of our visitors are from the United States. Other top countries include Australia, Canada, France, U.K.

Seasonality

The Swimming pool business is a seasonal industry. Opposite the busy year end Holiday Season, our season peaks during the first week of June (although we do experience a Holiday lift for gift sales). Our Sales from April - July account for nearly 1/2 of our annual sales.

During the Fall, pool owners above the Mason-Dixon line, or those located in the "Snow Belt" begin to shop for winterizing products to close their swimming pools. In March, the middle states begin to open their pools, or summerize. By June, most all pools in the country are open. The profitable pool business extends well beyond the season of Memorial Day to Labor Day. Customers located in the Sun Belt operate their pool year around, requiring parts, chemicals and supplies to keep them going!
